Huddersfield-based racer Daniel Lloyd’s profile is set to reach new heights during the upcoming British Touring Car Championship season as part of his Power Maxed Racing team’s new ultra-high-profile documentary series.

The multi-episode programme is being created by the same experienced FastR production crew responsible for world-class content for the likes of BBC’s Top Gear, Red Bull and Gumball 3000.

This project marks a ground-breaking first foray into the world’s largest streaming provider, Amazon Prime for the BTCC, with the documentary series also scheduled to air across Samsung TV, Freesports TV and Motorvision – reaching a potential additional audience of more than 250m people worldwide.

Following in the footsteps of the international hit ‘Drive to Survive’, the series – which is already in production – will see cameras follow almost every aspect of life for the team. Offering viewers unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to activities both away from the track and during race weekends as Daniel Lloyd and his team-mate Jason Plato compete at the top level of British motor racing.

“It’s amazing to be a part of such an exciting project;” commented Lloyd. “With how popular Drive to Survive has been, it’s shown that the concept works and that the appetite is there. We know that it has the potential to be huge – which is fantastic for my supporters and sponsors.

“Hopefully this will help towards the goal of securing a contract for next season. This really is a priceless opportunity to provide extra exposure to our partners and help to raise the profile of everyone involved.

“The team has worked so hard behind the scenes to turn this idea into a reality and I can’t wait to see it all come together and for the viewers to experience the highs and lows of the rollercoaster that is the BTCC!”

Filming is already underway, with the team and crew back in action this week for the official BTCC season launch at Silverstone on Thursday (22 April). Live timing for the event can be followed online at https://www.tsl-timing.com/event/211641
