Fans of British Touring Car Championship race winner Daniel Lloyd will be given the chance to get closer to the action than ever before in 2022 following the creation of his first YouTube channel.
Daniel’s decision to launch the channel – under the name DLR TV – comes ahead of his exciting new programme with the EXCELR8 Motorsport team, where he will look to fight for honours at the wheel of a Hyundai i30 Fastback N.
DLR TV will provide Huddersfield-based racer Daniel with the opportunity to offer additional insight into his latest assault on Britain’s premier racing series, with a number of behind the scenes videos planned during the year ahead.
Subscribers to the DLR TV channel will get the chance to go access-all-areas at the ten BTCC meetings that will take place over the course of the year, with Daniel planning to show fans exactly what is required to fight at the front of a touring car grid.
As well as seeing in the inner workings of a race-winning BTCC team on a race weekend, Daniel will provide fans with the opportunity to discover more about what is required away from the circuit through a range of videos covering topics such as the training plans and diets that help ensure he is fighting fit when he gets behind the wheel.
Following a soft launch, the channel has already racked up more than 230 hours worth of viewing in a matter of weeks, with fans being able to get Daniel’s take on his first test of the Hyundai at Brands Hatch and then his first opportunity to sample the BTCC’s new hybrid technology during an installation test at Donington Park.
Visitors to the channel will also have an additional chance to win a place on Daniel’s end-of-season track day event thanks to a special competition being run alongside sponsor 247 Blinds.
Upcoming videos will show Daniel’s ongoing preparation for the start of the new season later this month, with further testing planned at Croft and Thruxton before the racing action gets underway in anger back at Donington Park.
“With the clock ticking down to the start of the new season, it’s exciting to announce the launch of my new YouTube channel to offer fans the chance to learn more about what it takes to be a professional racing driver,” he said.
“DLR TV will give fans the chance to discover more about what goes on behind the scenes on a race weekend but I also want to show more about life away from the track, as there is so much that goes into racing in the BTCC that people probably never think about.
“Alongside the behind-the-scenes content, the 247 Blinds competition that we are currently running shows the commercial value that DLR TV can provide to my partners; particularly given how encouraging the figures are already from a soft launch.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming more subscribers onboard to follow my season through DLR TV, and hopefully we can all share in plenty of success together as the year goes on.”
