Daniel Lloyd has secured the backing of another leading business as he seeks to maintain his Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship challenge after joining forces with alloy-wheel refurbishment specialists Wheel Gods.

Huddersfield racer Daniel is fighting hard to keep his season on track after a huge accident at Oulton Park, with the 30-year-old working round the clock to secure the additional funding needed to cover a repair bill of more than £95,000.

Having launched a drive to bring in new sponsors on the back of the Oulton Park incident, a number of businesses stepped forwards to see how they could help, including Bolton-based Wheel Gods.

Founded through a love of all things automotive, Wheel Gods has established itself as the  leading wheel repair and refurbishment business in the Greater Manchester area but also works with a number of national motor dealerships to meet their wheel repair needs.

The company operates from a start-of-the-art facility that allows it to carry out a full range of wheel services, with continued investment in the latest technology enabling Wheel Gods to remain at the forefront of the industry.

The new partnership between Daniel and Wheel Gods came into effect for the most recent round of the BTCC season at Croft, where Daniel took his newly-repaired Hyundai i30 Fastback N to a stunning double victory.

“We would firstly like to say a massive well done and congratulations to Daniel after his epic wins at Croft last week, which was a fantastic achievement what happened at Oulton Park,” Wheel Gods owner Rick Potter said.

“Here at Wheel Gods we are all big lovers of motor racing and we are delighted to announce our newly formed partnership with Daniel, which has come about after a lot of discussions in recent weeks.

“His passion and enthusiasm shone through, as did his huger and desire, and we are really excited to be involved with such a talented driver.

“Having worked with a number of smaller amateur teams in the past, hopefully we can be small part of the engine that helps to power Daniel to success on track.”

Daniel himself expressed delight at adding another new partner to portfolio.

“It’s great to welcome Wheel Gods onboard on the back of what happened at Oulton Park, and a huge thank you to them for deciding to get involved,” he said. “As a hugely successful business operating in the Automotive industry, there are obvious synergies between their core business and the world of motorsport.

“I’m looking forward to working with them to fully realise the potential of this partnership, and hopefully the Croft weekend can be a sign of things to come!”
