Daniel Lloyd will look to maintain his recent run of top eight finishes in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB when the series heads for Knockhill this weekend for the fifth meeting of the campaign.
Huddersfield racer Daniel rejoined the fastest one-make series in the UK this season following a successful stint in the British Touring Car Championship having inked a deal to spearhead the Toro Verde GT line-up.
In his first season at the wheel of the Type 992 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, Daniel has shown flashes of his pace, most notably at Thruxton where he scored his best result of the season to date, and at Croft, where he displayed front-running speed but found himself caught in traffic after a rain-affected qualifying session.
Despite that, Daniel is on a run of five successive top eight finishes as he makes the trip to Scotland, with hopes high of a strong weekend on track following a productive day on track ahead of the event.
Running comfortably in the top ten throughout, Daniel was just a tenth of a second shy of the top six to further boost confidence heading to a circuit where he enjoyed his strong weekend in the BTCC last season, and where he has taken to the podium in the Carrera Cup in the past.
Daniel will be cheered on trackside by guests from partners Calder IT and DEVELOP who will make the trip north of the border for the weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to heading back to Knockhill this weekend, particularly on the back of a solid run in testing earlier in the week,” he said.
“Wrestling the Porsche around the circuit is certainly an interesting experience with the elevation changes and the potential to get airborne through Duffus Dip and the Chicane, and it promises to be an interesting weekend.
“In recent events, we’ve shown really good pace as I’m feeling a lot more comfortable with the car now than I was at the start of the season, but things haven’t quite come together to get the results I know we can achieve.
“Qualifying is going to be extremely important given how tight the circuit is, so we have to look the nail that session and get near the front so we can challenge for two strong results.”
