Daniel Lloyd kicks off his 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Hampshire’s super-fast Thruxton Racing Circuit this coming weekend whilst welcoming new sponsor 247blinds to the Power Maxed Racing squad.

The latest partner to join Lloyd’s BTCC title-chasing campaign for 2021, the Huddersfield-based online retailer is one of the UK’s leading producers and supplier of quality blinds and curtains, having built up a strong market presence over the past fifteen years.

Making the most of the strong local connection, the new partnership complements the firm’s established brand ethos and success. The 247blinds logo will be showcased across the Power Maxed Racing team’s duo of Vauxhall Astra NGTC machines – including Lloyd’s team-mate, double BTCC champion and TV personality, Jason Plato –  with the fresh livery being unveiled for the first time during this weekend’s season opener at Thruxton circuit (8-9 May).

Lloyd’s highly anticipated return to the UK’s highest-ranked series will be covered extensively throughout the season thanks to the Power Maxed Racing team’s ground-breaking Amazon Prime documentary series which has already begun filming.

Likewise, the BTCC’s unrivalled free-to-air coverage across the ITV network and online streaming service is set to bring the 247blinds brand and product offering to a potential audience of over 15.8 million viewers.

Daniel Lloyd: “I’m so fired-up for the first race weekend of the year. It’s mega exciting to welcome 247blinds on board for the opening round. It’s all come together very recently, and I’m so happy to have another Yorkshire-based business join our campaign.

“I’m going into the weekend with my eyes open. The BTCC is one of the toughest championships in the world. I haven’t raced at Thruxton for four years, so it’s definitely going to be a challenge, but I’m excited for it.

“We’ve been really solid all the way through our testing programme, but I’m not going to get my hopes up too much for round one. I’m expecting and hoping that we’ll be in the mix, like we have been in preseason testing, and to build momentum and get stronger as the season goes on.”

Jason Peterkin, 247blinds Managing Director: “We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with Daniel and the Power Maxed Racing team for the 2021 British Touring Car Championship. Daniel has proven that he’s a winner and strives to be the very best, which ties in with our own philosophy perfectly.

“As a proud Yorkshire-based company we’re thrilled to see one of our own doing so well and we’re very much looking forward to seeing him challenging the BTCC front runners this season.”
