Daniel Lloyd will carry extra support into the opening rounds of the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season this weekend at Donington Park after agreeing new partnerships with Quantum Project Solutions and Calder IT.

The two Yorkshire-based companies join Daniel’s ever-expanding portfolio of partners ahead of what promises to be an exciting year for the Huddersfield racer as the BTCC introduces new hybrid technology for the first time.

Quantum Project Solutions provides project management support for a range of complex technical projects in the information technology field, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, e-Commerce and data migration.

Although this will be the first time that the company has been involved in Britain’s premier racing series, Quantum Project Solutions is no stranger to the motorsport scene, with company founder Anna Metcalfe having enjoyed success in European drag racing during her own career.

Halifax-based Calder IT – which offers IT service packages to customers across the UK – joined forces with Daniel last season through his new members club, which was first launched back in August.

Created to provide individuals and businesses with the chance to get involved in top level motorsport, the Daniel Lloyd Racing Members Club offers a range of benefits, with Calder IT now expanding its involvement to become a full sponsor for the season ahead.

Daniel’s 2022 campaign kicks off at Donington Park; the circuit where he enjoyed one of his strongest weekends on track in 2021 with a career best result of second in qualifying being followed by three top seven results on race day, including an impressive podium in race one.

The 30-year-old makes the trip to the East Midlands circuit buoyed by a positive conclusion to his pre-season testing programme during the recent BTCC season launch at Thruxton, which is featured below in the latest edition of DLR TV.

Eager to impress with his new EXCELR8 Motorsport team, Daniel will look to put strong points on the board at Donington Park, with three solid results being the target for the opening weekend of competition.

Qualifying takes place at 15:35 on Saturday with Sunday’s three races – scheduled for 11:50, 14:40 and 17:25 – all airing live on ITV4HD.

Daniel Lloyd said:
“A lot of hard work has gone in over the winter to prepare for 2022 and it’s fantastic to have retained the support of so many sponsors from last year whilst also bringing new partners onboard.

“I’m now looking forward to getting down to business and doing what I love on track, and I’m heading into the new season feeling confident about what I can achieve in terms of results.

“We are all taking a bit of a step into the unknown with the new hybrid technology, but the team has worked really hard in testing to get on top of things and I feel we have a good package in the Hyundai to fight towards the sharp end.”

Anna Metcalfe, Quantum Solutions Founder, said:
“We are looking forward to this years British Touring Car Championship and are proud of our sponsor partnership with Daniel Lloyd Racing. We know Dan will build on last seasons achievements to add more trophies to his collection.”

James Bulley, Calder IT Managing Director, said:
“Calder IT started its partnership with Daniel in 2021 through the Daniel Lloyd Racing Members Club, which was a great way to experience everything that Dan Lloyd and the BTCC had to offer.

“Dan came to talk to me about his plans for 2022 and we discussed joining once again through the Members Club, but I was so impressed with the level of professionalism that he showed throughout 2021 that Calder IT is delighted to sign up as a full sponsor for the 2022 season instead.

“Calder IT is a business with its roots based in Yorkshire, and we’re proud to be sponsoring a fellow Yorkshire man during his 2022 BTCC campaign.”
