Daniel Lloyd’s quest to secure additional support for his Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship programme has been given a boost after agreeing new partnerships with Technology Desking and Third Millennium.
Huddersfield racer Daniel is now half ways through his second full season in Britain’s premier racing series and enjoyed the best weekend of his BTCC career to date at Croft, where he stormed to two wins in his EXCELR8 Motorsport-run Hyundai.
That performance was made all the more remarkable as it came just two weeks after a huge accident at Oulton Park left his car heavily damaged, and gave Daniel a repair bill of more than £95,000.
The Croft meeting marked the start of Daniel’s relationship with Technology Desking, a market-leading business that specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of furniture products for the workplace.
Founded back in 1992, the company is well known for its forward thinking approach to providing clients with the ideal solution to their requirements, with all design work carried out by an in-house team before a network of local manufacturers create high-quality products to the specifications of the individual client.
Alongside a showroom in Canary Wharf, the business operates from offices in New York and Hong Kong to support an impressive global client base that includes the likes of Netflix, HSBC, BP, Boeing and Microsoft.
“I’m delighted to announce this new partnership, which is one we have been working on for some time,” Daniel said.
“Technology Desking is an extremely innovative business that shares a lot of the values that I have as a driver and I’m looking forward to working with them to fully realise the potential in this new partnership.”
Technology Desking featured on Daniel’s #123 Hyundai i30 Fastback N for the first time at Croft, with the company joining an ever-expanding portfolio of partners supporting the 30-year-old in his quest to fight for championship honours on track.
“I have only known Daniel for a short while but as soon as I met him, I couldn’t help but be impressed by his passion, his drive to improve and his desire to succeed in such a difficult and highly-competitive championship,” Managing Director Steve Elliott said.
“When Daniel put forward some flexible and business friendly sponsorship options with some nice personal touches, Technology Desking was only too pleased to get involved and after the weekend at Croft, we are even more delighted that we did!
“We are extremely proud to be able to say that we are partnering with Daniel for his BTCC programme and wish him all the best for the remainder of the season.”
Daniel’s quest to secure additional funding has also been boosted by the support of Third Millennium, a multi award-winning manufacturer of advanced access control readers that works with a number of leading security specialists around the world.
The Welsh business stepped in to assist on the back of the Oulton Park accident when the gravity of the situation facing Daniel became clear.
“When Dan crashed at Oulton Park it was obviously painful and expensive,” managing director Peter Jones said. “Third Millennium reached out to find out how we could help. Two weeks later, our faith in Dan was repaid with interest, delivering a weekend of motorsport at Croft that I will never forget.”
“It’s great that Third Millennium has elected to come onboard after what happened at Oulton Park, and their assistance is also invaluable when it comes to the ongoing situation I find myself in,” Daniel added.
“The support so far has been fantastic and these two new partnerships have gone some way towards finding the money required, but we still have a lot of work to do and more backing to find.
“We’ve made a good start on raising the funds for the repairs to the car, but we still need well over £50,000 more to fully cover the costs.”
