Daniel Lloyd can today confirm a new partnership with DEVELOP for the remainder of the 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.
The company, known for its market-leading copier and printing solutions, is the latest Yorkshire-based business to join forces with Huddersfield-racer Daniel as he does battle in the leading race series in the UK.
Daniel’s relationship with DEVELOP managing director Jonathan Whitworth began earlier this year, when the pair attended a special Valentines Ball held to raise funds for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Having supported the hospice for a number of years, Daniel donated four places on his annual Sponsors Track Day at Silverstone as part of a charity auction, with Whitworth one of the two lucky bidders to secure a spot – helping to raise an impressive £7,000 in the process.
With the pair having kept in touch ever since, Whitworth got in touch to see how DEVELOP could get involved in supporting Daniel’s BTCC programme when news broke last month that his participation in the final meetings of the 2022 season was at risk following his accident at Oulton Park earlier in the year.
The call for support saw a number of race fans step forwards to purchase a selection of special packages designed to help keep Daniel’s season on track, and also saw him secure backing from Bristol Street Motors – the major backer of his EXCELR8 Motorsport team.
DEVELOP branding will now feature on both Daniel’s helmet and on his race-winning Hyundai i30 Fastback N for the upcoming races at Silverstone and Brands Hatch, with the 30-year-old bidding to end the season on a high and cement his place inside the top ten in the championship standings.
“It’s fantastic to welcome DEVELOP onboard for the remainder of the current season,” Daniel said. “When I first met Jonathan earlier this year at the Valentines Ball, it was clear to see how much of a motorsport fan he is, and we’ve spoken a number of times since then.
“When I announced that my season was at risk of ending early, Jonathan got in touch to see how he could help and I’m delighted to now have another leading Yorkshire business supporting my programme as a result. Hopefully their support will help push me on to a strong end of the campaign in the final two rounds.”
“We’re pleased to be able to support Daniel in keeping his season on track,” Whitworth added. “Since meeting him at the Valentines Ball earlier in the year, I’ve kept a close eye on how his season has been going on track and it’s great to now be in a position where DEVELOP is able to get involved as one of his partners.
“Daniel’s determination to fight back from what happened at Oulton Park has been hugely impressive and we look forward to being part of the fun for the remainder of the season.”
