Daniel Lloyd will look to build on the encouraging pace he displayed last time out as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship heads for Thruxton this weekend for the fourth round of the campaign.

The Huddersfield-based racer makes the trip to the fastest circuit on the calendar high on confidence as he continues to extract more speed from his new Team HARD-run Cupra Leon, with extensive work alongside new race engineer Tom Hunt being reflected in the pace shown last time out at Snetterton.

There, Daniel picked up his second top-ten finish of the campaign and was well set to fight for his best result of the year to date before unfortunate contact in the final race of the weekend saw him twice run off track.

As well as picking up a double points score two weeks ago. Daniel also picked up his first silverware of the campaign with an Independents’ class victory, which leaves him third in the Independents’ Trophy going into the weekend.

Daniel has shown strong pace at Thruxton in the past – including a fine drive from 14th to fifth on his series return back in 2021 and a triple top ten last year – and will now look to benefit from the improvements to his car to fight for three strong points finishes to strengthen his championship challenge.

“The big challenge with these cars is getting them ‘in the window’ but we took a big step forward with that at Snetterton last time out,” he said.

“It means that when we get to Thruxton this weekend, we’ve got a base set-up that we can look to tweak and refine to suit the circuit, rather than making radical changes to try and unlock the pace that we know is in the car.

“We’re in the strongest position we have been in so far, and I’m hoping we can hit the ground running in practice and use that as the platform to build on over the rest of the weekend.

“With a bit more luck than we’ve had so far, I’m confident we can fight for three solid results and challenge for a good haul of points.”
