Daniel Lloyd will look for a positive end to his campaign in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB when the 2024 season draws to a close this weekend at Brands Hatch.
Daniel returned to the fastest one-make series in the UK this season with the Toro Verde GT team following a successful stint in touring cars, and goes into the final meeting of the year on the back of his best weekend of the campaign to date last time out at Silverstone.
Having scored numerous top ten finishes earlier in the year, Daniel produced a fine drive in challenging wet/dry conditions to battle his way to third place in race two, which marked his first podium finish of the campaign.
That marked the 16th time he has taken to the Carrera Cup GB podium during his career having first debuted in the series as a Porsche Junior driver back in 2012.
Ironically, Daniel’s previous podium finish in the series came on the Brands Hatch GP layout in 2016 before his move away from sportscar racing, with a second place finish in the opening race having started from the front row of the grid.
A similar result this weekend would be the ideal way to bring the curtain down on a challenging campaign for Huddersfield racer Daniel, who will be able to count on plenty of trackside support from a number of his commercial partners.
Guests from Technology Desking, The Swiss Link, Mongoose Social, Calder IT, Marc Webb Building and several members of the Daniel Lloyd Racing Members Club are all due to travel to the circuit to cheer Daniel on in his quest for silverware.
“It’s hard to believe the final round of the year is coming around again already, and I’m really looking forward to getting out on track at Brands Hatch,” he said.
“The full Grand Prix circuit is one of my favourite on the calendar and is one where I’ve had some good results in the past, with podium finishes in the Carrera Cup and a race win in the final round of the BTCC back in 2022.
“The podium at Silverstone last time out was one that I feel was overdue and has given me a big boost in confidence going into the final weekend of racing. It’s made me even more determined to try and finish the season on a high, and I’ll be pushing hard to try and bring home another trophy to sign off on 2024.”
