Daniel Lloyd has been given an extra boost ahead of the remainder of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season after entering into a new partnership agreement with HEMPE.
Huddersfield-based racer Daniel first came across the HEMPE brand last year whilst trying to find a product that would help with ongoing pain in his back, which worsened as a result of a dramatic crash he was involved in at Oulton Park.
That crash saw his car struck by another machine at more than 100mph, resulting in a 52G impact – the largest by far of Daniel’s career.
Utilising HEMPE’s Ice Muscle and Joint Gel to ease pain in his back caused by a bulging disc sitting on his sciatic nerve and also to his ribs following the Oulton Park incident, Daniel was not only able to continue with his racing programme, but would go on to secure a dramatic double victory at Croft in the following meeting and a career-best top ten championship finish.
Continuing to use HEMPE products, which are created in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner using only natural ingredients, has helped Daniel to remain fighting fit heading into the 2023 season and his third full year competing in Britain’s premier racing series.
His first-hand experience of the brand led to Daniel making contact with HEMPE to discuss a potential tie-up, with a deal agreed that will now see the company feature on his Team HARD Cupra and on his helmet across the remainder of the 2023 campaign.
Daniel Lloyd said:
“It’s no secret that I have suffered with back pain for a long time, even before the accident at Oulton Park last year – which certainly didn’t help matters!
“Someone suggested that it might be worth looking at CBD products and it led me to HEMPE’s Ice Muscle and Joint Gel – which I’ve now been using for the last twelve months. It’s been the best gel I have tried by far, and it’s no exaggeration to say it was a massive help in me being able to continue racing last year.
“Given that it’s an industry that is growing a huge amount, I approached HEMPE to see if they were interested in getting involved in my racing and I’m delighted to now have them onboard for the remainder of the season.
“HEMPE has helped to keep me fighting fit to this stage, and their support can now help me chase success on track for the rest of 2023 – and hopefully beyond.”
Farad Darver, CEO & Founder of HEMPE said:
“I’m thrilled for HEMPE to have partnered with Daniel – he is a genuinely nice guy and a very talented driver.
“Lots of people in grassroots racing use our Ice Muscle and Joint Gel to keep cool and avoid muscle fatigue, so when I found out Daniel had been using it for over a year, it was a no-brainer for us to officially step into the BTCC with him!”
