Daniel Lloyd has today confirmed an extended partnership with Yorkshire-based business DEVELOP for his assault on the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.
Huddersfield racer Daniel joined forces with the company, which is known for its market-leading copier and printing solutions, mid-way through the 2022 campaign when he was forced to launch a new fundraising drive to deal with the after-effects of a huge accident at Oulton Park.
It led to DEVELOP managing director Jonathan Whitworth reaching out to the 30-year-old about getting involved, with the company coming onboard for the final two meetings of the campaign – which included a race-winning weekend at Brands Hatch.
Having seen the value of being involved with Daniel’s programme in Britain’s premier racing series, DEVELOP has now decided to not only extend its agreement into 2023 but will also increase its investment to take up a larger role.
DEVELOP branding will take up a prominent position on the Team HARD-run Cupra Leon that Daniel will drive in the ten-round, 30-race BTCC season, whilst the company will take full advantage of the networking opportunities available by enabling members of its dealer network to entertain guests trackside at events across the UK.
The new livery on Daniel’s 2023 car, including DEVELOP branding, will be revealed in due course.
“It’s fantastic to have DEVELOP back onboard for the 2023 season,” Daniel said. “Having first met Jonathan last year at a charity event, we kept in touch and he reached out after the accident at Oulton Park to see how he could help, which played a part in me being able to complete the season.
“Even though DEVELOP was only involved for the final two rounds, they have been able to see the benefits that come from being part of the BTCC, and I’m extremely grateful that Jonathan and his team have decided to increase their involvement for the season ahead.
“I’m excited about what 2023 holds, and look forward to working with DEVELOP both on and off track to make a success of the upcoming season.”
“We really enjoyed being involved with Daniel for the final two rounds last season, and to know we were part of ‘the team’ that had got him out there when he won the last race of the year at Brands Hatch was brilliant,” Whitworth added.
“It’s great for us as a business to be in a position to now sign up as a partner for a full season, and we are hugely excited to see what Daniel can achieve on track in 2023.
“As well as doing the business on track, we have seen first-hand how Daniel works to be an ambassador for his partners, and look forward to our expanded partnership developing over the next twelve months.”
