Daniel Lloyd will look to build on his strongest weekend of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season so far when the series heads to Knockhill for the seventh meeting of the campaign.

Huddersfield racer Daniel was on solid form at Croft two weeks ago at the wheel of his Team HARD-run Cupra Leon, recovering well from contact in the opening race of the weekend to score a brace of points finishes – including a fourth top ten of the year.

Although an unfortunate DNF in race three after hitting oil on the circuit prevented him from fighting for more points, Daniel came away from the weekend with plenty to be positive about, with work carried out on the Cupra during a mid-season test at Donington Park paying dividends for the 31-year-old.

Heading to Scotland, Daniel will look to build on the progress made at Croft as he bids to add further points to his overall championship total, whilst also chasing a second Independents’ class victory of the year.

With four meetings, and twelve races, left to run, Daniel currently sits third in the Independents’ Trophy standings, 27 points away from second spot.

“I’ve not had a lot of luck at Knockhill in recent years, but I’m making the trip this weekend feeling confident that I can push for some much stronger results,” he said.

“Although the weekend at Croft ended on a bit of a low, there were a lot of positives for us to take away as a team, as we showed we were on the pace from the moment we hit the track for the opening practice session.

“Knockhill is a very challenging circuit, particularly in a series where it is so competitive and the lap times are so close, as one small mistake in qualifying could drop you halfway down the grid.

“I’m confident that the Cupra is going to be a good package, and the first goal will be to make it through to the shootout in qualifying, and then try and bring home three strong points finishes.”
