Huddersfield’s Daniel Lloyd heads to the ‘home of British Motor Racing’ this coming weekend for the penultimate meeting of the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on the world-renowned Silverstone circuit (September 15/16).

The 26-year-old racer is eager for a return to winning ways as the UK’s premier racing series reaches its final stages of the season. With a maiden race win already under his belt, Lloyd is looking for a change in fortunes on the historic circuit after two challenging meetings at Knockhill and Rockingham.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car this weekend;” commented Lloyd. “The last couple of rounds have been missed opportunities really. We’ve had great pace, but just not got the results to show for it.

“Silverstone favours the front wheel drive cars and I think that the Civic will go well there. I want to make sure that we capitalise on our strengths this weekend and get some good points in the bag.”

Although the Yorkshireman is out of the Drivers’ Title running himself – having missed the opening rounds – his BTC Norlin Racing team heads into the weekend in fighting position for the Independent Teams’ Championship Title. Currently, in 4th place in the standings, the Bicester-based squad sits just 24 points off the current leaders, with 6 races still remaining.

“Qualifying will be mega close this weekend;” added Lloyd. “Ideally we need to be breaking into the top ten and looking to move forward from there in the races. It’s really important that we get three solid points finishes to help keep the team in the fight for the Independent Teams’ Title.”

Rounds 25, 26 and 27 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship take place on the Silverstone National Circuit layout on September 15/16. Saturday (September 15) hosts two free practice sessions at 09.25 and 12.05 before the all-important 30-minute qualifying session at 15.15.
