Daniel Lloyd will hope to celebrate 100 races in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship in style this weekend when the series heads for Silverstone for the penultimate race meeting of the campaign.

The Huddersfield-racer will hit the landmark in the first of the three races planned at the home of the British Grand Prix – which was the scene of his best weekend of the season twelve months ago.

Then, the 30-year-old secured a pair of podium finishes that included a fine second place in weekend finale after a race long dice with Jake Hill that saw the pair running nose to tail for much of the 22 lap encounter.

This time around, Daniel heads for the Northamptonshire circuit looking to try and at least replicate those results as he seeks to add to the silverware he secured with a double win at Croft earlier in the campaign.

A challenging run of form in recent meetings has prevented Daniel from making the most of the pace of his EXCELR8 Motorsport-run Hyundai i30 Fastback N, although battling performances on track have allowed him to score points in five of the last six races.

Currently sitting tenth in the championship standings, the BRDC member remains confident about the prospect of running at the front of the field at a circuit where the car was strong last year.

Daniel will be given extra motivation by the fact that he will be cheered on by nearly 60 guests representing a number of his key partners – including Propack, ABRACS and 24/7 Blinds – whilst he will also be racing with backing from DEVELOP for the first time, having recently announced a new agreement with the market-leading copier and printing solutions business.

“It’s been a while since I made my BTCC debut back in 2010, but I’m delighted to bring up 100 starts in the series this weekend,” he said. “As a member of the BRDC, Silverstone is a great place to hit the landmark and I’m going into the weekend optimistic about fighting for some good results.

“Silverstone was the highlight of the year for me last year, and there is no reason why I can’t hope to try and fight for the podium again this time around. The Hyundai was a strong package there last season and I’ll be looking to take full advantage – particularly as I think I’m due some good luck after a few tricky events!

“It promises to be a busy weekend with a lot of guests coming along to show their support, and I’ll be giving my all to make sure they have plenty to cheer.”

Qualifying on Saturday will air on the ITV website at 15:15, with the three races on Sunday – scheduled for 11:40, 14:25 and 17:10 – all being shown live on ITV4 HD. Live timing across the weekend is also available thanks to TSL Timing.
